NTNP Express Entry Eligibility Requirements
Who is Eligible to Apply?
- Candidates with an active Express Entry profile
- Individuals with job experience in the Northwest Territories province
- Candidates with legal status to work in Canada
Key Eligibility Requirements
To be considered for the Northwest Territories Express Entry Stream, candidates must:
- Have a profile in the federal Express Entry system
- Possess a Job Seeker Validation Code
- Demonstrate at least one year of full-time job experience at the National Occupation Classification (NOC) Skill Level 0, A, or B
- Have an adequate education level or specialization in a specific trade relevant to the job offer received
- Show the required certification or accreditation for the job offer received
- Prove language proficiency in CLB 6 for NOC 0 and A and CLB 5 for NOC B
- As a temporary foreign worker in the Northwest Territories, demonstrate a connection to the province, have a legal status to work in Canada, and show a full-time job offer
NWT Express Entry: Application Process
The Northwest Territories Express Entry stream is open to all candidates with an Express Entry profile who meet the eligibility criteria. The application process involves:
- Creating an Express Entry profile
- Receiving an approved job offer and submitting all necessary documentation to prove eligibility
- Accepting a provincial nomination from NTNP, which increases the Comprehensive Ranking Score (CRS) by 600 points
- Preparing all documents and a cover letter after receiving an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence, and applying for Canadian permanent residence
While there is no fixed time frame, applications through Express Entry are generally processed within six months.
