Application Processing Fee for Applicants and Family Members
This fee is mandatory when an applicant submits the Express Entry profile. As per the latest update, the application processing fee for the Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program, and Canadian Experience Class is CAD $850 for the primary applicant and CAD $230 per dependent child.
Right of Permanent Residence Fee (RPRF)
Once the application is approved, the applicant must pay the Right of Permanent Residence Fee, which is CAD $515. To avoid delay, the RPRF can be paid at the same time as the application fees. In case of refusal or withdrawal of an application, IRCC will refund the fees.
Biometric Fee

How to Pay Express Entry Fees for Canada PR
Fill out the online form: Complete all sections of the online application form.
Scan and upload the documents: Gather the necessary documents (such as identification, education credentials, etc.) and upload them to your application.
Pay your fees: To pay the fees, follow these instructions:
- Log in to your online account.
- Use a debit or credit card for payment.
- At a minimum, pay your processing fees when you submit your application.
- To avoid delays, consider paying all fees upfront, including the right of permanent residence fee.
- The fees youâll encounter include:
- Processing fee (for you and your family members).
- Right of permanent residence fee.
- Biometrics fee (if applicable).
- If your application isnât complete, you can request a refund, but once processing begins, the processing fee will not be refunded.
- Biometrics fees are generally non-refundable.
Submit your complete application: After paying the fees, submit your application online.
Miscellaneous Expenses
Some other fees need to be considered, such as language tests, certificates, notaries, police clearing, translations, courier deliveries, and affidavits.
Requesting a Refund for Express Entry Program Fees
Processing Fee Paid Within the Online Application:
- If youâre eligible, weâll automatically refund you if:
- You withdraw your application.
- We refuse your application.
- The amount refunded depends on the type of fee and the status of your application.
- If you withdraw before we start processing your application, youâll receive a full refund.
- Some fees are refundable even after processing begins or if your application is refused.
- Eligible refunds may take 2 to 8 weeks to appear in your account.
- If itâs been longer than 8 weeks and you havenât been automatically refunded, you can request a refund using your receipt number:
- Retrieve your receipt number from the email we sent you when you applied.
- If you donât have the email, find your receipt number by signing in to the account you used for the application and checking your submission confirmation under messages.
- Create a new account (not the same one used for the application) and log in to access the portal.
- Enter your receipt number in the search box under âMy receiptsâ and select âRequest a refund.â
Online Payment:
- Similar to the above process, if youâre eligible, weâll automatically refund you if:
- You withdraw your application.
- We refuse your application.
- The refund amount depends on the fee type and application status.
- Full refunds are possible if you withdraw before processing begins.
