Inspite of Covid-19 pandemic, Canadian immigration saw rising interest from April to August 2020. The latest survey carried out by Word Education Services (WES) has delivered its most recent release on how the Covid-19 pandemic has changed individuals’ perception of immigration. The survey was carried out wherein many prospective Canadian immigrants were targeted, who had applied for WES evaluation carried between January 2019 and July 2020. A total of 27,930 responses were received and analyzed.
WES announced three significant findings –
- The interest in Canada immigration increased between April and August among probable workers;
- The graph of respondents delaying immigration showed a considerable downfall in this time duration as many individuals applied for Canada immigration;
- The prospective immigrants expect financial conditions in their nation of origin to be more regrettable than in Canada.
This is the third report, which specified Canada immigration statistics since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic. WES estimated the first analysis of Canada immigration during the height of the primary wave in April. The second took a gander at equivalent information in the month of June. The recently delivered analysis is a depiction of perspectives from August.
The targeted group incorporated most of the respondents from India, Nigeria, the Philippines, and Pakistan. More respondents perceived COVID-19 to affect job availability in their profession adversely, both in Canada and their nation of origin. Forty-seven percent anticipated a negative effect on job availability in April, and 60% in August. The pandemic’s impact on Canada’s jobs expanded somewhat from 41 percent in April to 44 percent in August.
