5 Questions to Ask a Canadian Student Visa Consultant

By 31 May 2022June 12th, 2024No Comments

Many international students apply for a Canadian student visa with the help of professional immigration consultants. It helps them avoid student visa rejections. But some of the students get scammed by unprofessional or inexperienced immigration consultants. Prospective international students should also be careful to ensure Canadian immigration consultants they have chosen is reliable and trustworthy.

Here are the 5 questions you should ask your Canada student visa consultants to help ensure they are right for the job:

1. Are You a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC)?

Ask your consultant, if they are a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC)?  Make sure to check their RCIC number using this search tool available on Canada’s official website. This will help you uncover unqualified individuals who engage in study visa frauds.

If the consultant is telling the truth, their name or company name will appear on the ICCRC database. Mostly genuine immigration consultants like ELAAR won’t hesitate to tell the RCIC number.

2. How many years have you been an Immigration Consultant for?

If you are lucky enough to hire an RCIC to help you with your student visa application, you won’t have to worry about them making mistakes. However, you can feel more confident about your chosen consultant’s knowledge and skills by asking them how long they have been practicing.

Immigration consultants who have been practicing for many years will be familiar with the Canadian student visa requirements and application process.

They would have gained experience by helping students over the years and understand things that may not necessarily be listed on the IRCC website.

For example, an experienced student visa consultant may be able to tell you the ideal minimum amount of funds to show IRCC for your student visa application. The consultant may also be able to tell you what the optimally accepted method for showing proof of funds is. This helps boost your chances of being issued your student visa.
