On 16th April 2020, the Government of British Columbia came out with a new draw under the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP). The draw focused on the Skills Immigration and Express Entry British Columbia (EEBC) categories of BC PNP. BCPNP invited a total of 271 applicants, and there was a slight change in the score for Skills Immigration (SI) category as compared to the previous draw. Latest draw details are as follows:
Skills Immigration – score for Skilled Worker category dropped by 2 points to 100
Skills Immigration – score for International Graduate category dropped by 2 points to 100
Skills Immigration – score for Entry Level & Semi-Skilled category went up by 2 points to 85
Express Entry British Columbia (EEBC) – score for Skilled Worker category remained constant at 105
Express Entry British Columbia (EEBC) – score for International Graduate category remained constant at 102
The province of British Columbia, under the BC PNP, issues invitations at regular intervals to applicants who score maximum in every category to apply for the BCPNP program. After this, the province nominates successful candidates for applying to the Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) for the issue of permanent residence.
The outbreak of COVID-19 has impacted the economy, and it has affected some sectors more than others. Due to this, BCPNP excluded a total of 34 NOCs from participating for this BCPNP draw. Till today, British Columbia has invited 2,386 applicants for applying through the BCPNP program in the year 2020.
