Canada Announces PGWP Extensions for International Students

In order to help businesses find the workers, they require while enabling us to continue attracting top talent from around the world, tens of thousands of former international students will be granted an extended open work visa of 18 months.

Minister Sean Fraser said that more graduates will be able to settle down thanks to this exceptional measure, which reflects economic growth potential.

Each year, Canada welcomes thousands of foreign students to study at its colleges and institutions. When they finish their education, many of these students will be qualified for a post-graduate work permit.

PGWP aims to keep students by giving them the freedom to work for any Canadian business in any sector. The student has 180 days to submit an application for a post-graduate work permit following the conclusion of the study program (and the demonstration of written notification of eligibility for a degree, diploma, or certificate).
