Canada Express Entry Latest Draw September 19, 2023 ~ 3,200 Invitations

On September 19, 2023, the first Express Entry round of invitations was held by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). A total of 3,200 candidates were issued invitations in an all-program draw, with a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 531 required to receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA).

Express Entry draws were unexpectedly paused for a month, and IRCC has not given a reason. However, on September 18, they announced that the draws would resume this week.

The current pool’s CRS Cut-Off has experienced a 35-point increase, from 496 to 531, as a result of the recent pause. Unfortunately, this development has been disappointing for the waiting candidates.

What is Express Entry?

The aim of these category-based selection draws is to address urgent job vacancies in in-demand sectors of Canada’s workforce and strengthen the economy. However, candidates in the Express Entry program still need to have a high CRS score to be competitive in these draws.

With the recent announcement of the resumption of Express Entry draws, it remains to be seen how the selection process will unfold in the coming weeks.
