According to the recent data, Canada does not have enough truckers to fill all the positions. The truck transportation industry is unable to fill one out of every 15 positions.
The total number of truck driver jobs in Canada have increased from 8,600 in 2016 to 20,500 in 2019. This means that Canada needs 25,000 new truckers by 2023. The immigration experts continuously urge the federal government that it is time to establish dedicated immigration pathways for long-haul truck drivers in time.
