Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has conducted its latest Express Entry draw, issuing 5,000 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) exclusively for candidates in the Canadian Experience Class (CEC). To qualify, candidates needed a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 510. This draw, held on July 31, 2024, marks the ninth for the month, contributing to a total of 25,125 ITAs issued throughout July.

The draws this month have alternated between program-specific selections, such as those for the CEC and the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), as well as category-based selection draws.

CRS Score Dropping Gradually with CEC Draws

The recent Canadian Experience Class (CEC) draws indicate a noticeable decline in the minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) scores required for candidates. The last draw on July 31, 2024, invited 5,000 candidates with a CRS score of 510, down from 6,300 invitations issued on July 17, 2024, which required a score of 515. This trend suggests a downward trajectory in the CRS cut-off scores, making it increasingly feasible for candidates currently working in Canada to secure their permanent residency (PR).

To be eligible for these category-based draws, candidates must be in the Express Entry pool and meet the general requirements for one of the three main immigration programs: Federal Skilled Worker, Federal Skilled Trades Program, or Canadian Experience Class.
