In November 2019, 25,100 foreign nationals were given the status of Canadian permanent residents. Most of those newcomers came to Canada from India – 6,210 immigrants or 24.74% of the total number. The second-largest source of new PRs were the Philippines – 1,915 newcomers or 7.63%. China was the third biggest country of origin of immigrants in November – 1,895 immigrants or 7.55%. Pakistan is the place of origin of the fourth largest group of new Canadians – 915 newcomers or 3.65%. Nigeria became the fifth largest nation of immigrants – 910 or 3.63%. United States of America – 840 (3.35%), Syria – 660 (2.63%), France – 580 (2.31%), Eritrea – 530 (2.11%) South Korea – 475 (1.89%). In total, as of November 30, 2019, Canada granted PR to 320,300 immigrants.
