SINP International Skilled Worker: Tech Talent Pathway

The Saskatchewan Tech Talent Pathway targets tech workers with valid job offers in the Saskatchewan province of Canada’s high-skilled technology and innovation sector. The stream is specially designed for employers in the area to recruit skilled and educated professionals to improve the economy in the technology and innovation sectors. The Tech Talent Pathway opens an excellent opportunity for qualified professionals outside Canada and those with legal status in Canada. Professionals with a permanent, full-time job offer in the technology sector in Saskatchewan are eligible for this stream.

Eligibility Requirements for Saskatchewan Tech Talent Pathway

Who Can Apply?

  • Candidates with valid full-time, permanent job offer in Saskatchewan.
  • Candidates who can meet all the eligibility requirements of this sub-category.
  • Candidates who intend to work and live in the province.
  • Candidates need to show their licensing in Saskatchewan if they are applying for one of the three occupations:
    • Computer Engineers
    • Software Engineers
    • Electrical and Electronic Engineers

Non-Express Entry Eligibility Requirements

  • You can apply as a foreign worker, or if you stay in Canada, you must show your legal status there.
  • You must not be in the Refugee Claimant category.
  • You must demonstrate an employer-specific SINP Job Approval Letter in your intended occupation.
  • You must demonstrate at least CLB level 5 in English/French. If you work for an employer in Saskatchewan, you must fulfil the language requirements set by your employer.
  • You must demonstrate at least six months (780 hours) of full-time (30+ hours per week) for the employer.
  • Or you must have at least one year of work experience in your intended tech employment in the past five years.
  • You must demonstrate a post-secondary education related to your profession.
  • If you are a computer engineer, software engineer and designer, data scientist, or electrical and electronics engineer, you must provide an authorized letter from the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS).
  • You must demonstrate your intent to live in Saskatchewan.

Express Entry Eligibility Requirements

  • You must have a valid Express Entry Profile Number and Job Seeker Code.
  • Your language score must meet the Federal Express Entry Language Requirements.
  • You must demonstrate at least six months (780 hours) of full-time (30+ hours per week) for the employer who has provided you with the Job Approval Letter.
  • Or you must have at least one year of work experience in your intended tech employment in the past five years.
  • If you are applying from other than Saskatchewan, you must demonstrate one year of full-time work experience in the past five years.
  • You must demonstrate a post-secondary education related to your profession.
  • If you are a computer engineer, software engineer and designer, data scientist, or electrical and electronics engineer, you must provide an authorized letter from the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS).
  • You must demonstrate your intent to live in Saskatchewan.

How to Apply for SINP Tech Talent Pathway?

To apply for the SINP’s International Skilled Worker: Tech Talent Pathway, follow these steps:

  • Get a full-time job offer from a registered Saskatchewan employer.
  • Receive a Job Approval Letter from your employer.
  • Read the SINP guidelines and submit your application for provincial nomination using the SINP portal. You must scan and upload all forms and required documents in PDF format.
  • Pay the fee for Saskatchewan Express Entry and Occupation In-Demand sub-categories only.
  • Once your application is approved, submit an application to the federal government for permanent resident status.
